For labs that are classified Bio-Contaminant Level 3 Hazard Areas, Beta Star manufactures special BL3 effluent sterilizers. These systems offer many of the features of a standard small capacity or cGMP unit but also utilize a filtration system that prevents harmful pathogens and viruses from exiting the sterilizer prior to being fully sterilized.
Standard steam sterilization cycles exhaust through a heated 0.2 um hydrophobic filter in order to prevent pathogens and viruses from exiting the sterilizer during the exhaust and vacuum phases of the sterilization cycles and prior to fulfilling sterilization time and temperature settings.Our BL3 effluent sterilizers also feature cross-contamination interlocks such as "pass through" double doors in order to prevent cross-contamination from clean to dirty sides of the autoclave.
