General Job Description

This position is responsible for assembling and disassembling mechanical parts, pieces, and products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints or sketches, and perform layout work.
  • Uses necessary tools and equipment to perform construction, assemble, disassemble, repair, rebuild or recondition work as assigned.
  • Clean, degrease, sandblast, prime, paint, condition, straighten, flatten and hand fit parts as needed.
  • Use and maintain precision measuring tools.
  • Perform all material handling duties required, use cranes or material handling equipment as needed.
  • Adjust, lubricate, and perform minor maintenance on equipment used and maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment and working areas.
  • Operate power saws, rill grinders, portable hydraulic jacks, vertical and horizontal presses, sandblast and painting equipment, as relating to work assigned.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes

Fitter / Welder

General Job Description

A Welder/Fitter is required to cut according to the fabrication process, fabricate, weld, and straighten all types of materials used in the company’s fabrication and welding operations with little or no supervisory assistance in the shop.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of welding principals and methods including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Ability to read tape measure to 1/64”
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Experience with grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts
  • Experience performing x-ray quality welds
  • Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents
  • Proficiency with manual and semi-automatic execution of weld processes
  • Experience welding ASME Code pressure vessels

Machinist – CNC Horizontal Boring Mill

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Night (4pm – 2am)

General Job Description

Machinists prepare and operate a variety of machines (CNC Lathe, Vertical Machining Center, CNC Horizontal Boring Mill, and Manual Horizontal Boring Mill) to produce precision parts and instruments from various metal types (Stainless, Carbon, Alum; Cast, Exotics) and configurations (Forging, Bar Stock Weldments, Casting, Plate).

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Select, set up, remove, and debur all tooling parts
  • Responsible for machining and initial inspection of parts being made
  • Have a thorough understanding of the speeds and feeds of the machine and how it relates to the material being cut
  • Operate overhead cranes to load and unload machine
  • Responsible for predefined preventative maintenance tasks
  • Operate a Monarch Pathfinder CNC Lathe with Fanuc 16T controls
  • Program, set, and change offsets

A Pre-Fabrication Craftsman produces parts for welders that comply with engineering release drawings or work orders produced by project planning.

Production Planner

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret drawings to generate and maintain work order cut sheets and routings to outline the steps required to manufacture and inspect a custom fabrication
  • Interact with Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, and Quality Engineers to ensure an efficient, quality process sheet is created for the Manufacturing team to follow. This includes estimating the time required to perform each function, so it can be accurately scheduled
  • Maintain any Solidworks and AutoCAD sketches required to enable parts to be burned to shape by our CNC plate processing equipment
  • Will need to interact with lead fitters and welders on the shop floor to better understand their needs
  • For larger projects run pre-job process review meetings with Project Managers, Lead Fitters, Lead Welders, and in some cases estimators to understand their thoughts prior to processing
  • BOM releases to Purchasing Department

Requirements

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to determine individual piece shapes and dimensions
  • Experienced using shop math methods to calculate part sizes, the layout of each piece, and nest pieces to best yield for plate and structural steel

Production Supervisor

Plant: Honey Brook, PA and Morgantown, PA

General Job Description

The Production Supervisor position has been created to provide point leadership to the operations of a production department or departments. This includes the organization, supervision, resource allocation, skill development, and performance evaluation of all employees assigned.

Experience with fabrication, welding, heavy industrial and prefabrication machines, and management experience is necessary for this position.

R-V Industries is a design and build manufacturer of custom industrial process equipment. We engineer to order, as well as build to print, a wide variety of specialty equipment. Most of our equipment is built in house by our own in-house fabricators, machinists, mechanical and electrical assemblers.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Participate in the PO and specification review and assist in the development of all pertinent technical documentation required to build assemble and test the equipment. This includes drawings, component specifications, bills of materials and procedures.
  • Assist Sales, Project Managers, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing and Installation with all issues related to the contract.
  • Communicate with our customer’s technical personnel in all matters related to design along with any other pertinent technical requirements.
  • Review project specifications, digest those specifications for manufacturing use, and create Bills of Materials with all pertinent technical requirements defined for purchasing.
  • Ownership of all documentation related to the technical aspects of a project.
  • Execute project from a budget and schedule standpoint as it relates to design activities.

Layout Technician

Plant: Morgantown, PA

Shift: Day Shift

General Job Description

Layout Technicians layout plates, heads, and other parts to be fit and welded or assembled. They plan and develop layouts from blueprints and build templates, applying knowledge of trigonometry, design, effects of heat, and properties of metals.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lay out and fabricate metal structural parts such as plates, bulkheads, and frames.
  • Mark curves, lines, holes, dimensions, and welding symbols onto workpieces, using scribes, soapstone’s, punches, and hand drills.
  • Compute layout dimensions and determine and mark reference points on metal stock or workpieces for further processing, such as welding and assembly.
  • Locate center lines and verify template positions, using measuring instruments such as gauge blocks, height gauges, and dial indicators.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Self-starter with above average skills in blue print reading and interpretation.
  • Good math skills, specifically circumferential based. knowledge of how to use a standard calculator.
  • Good skills with layout tools: tape measure (to a 1/64th ), micrometer, caliper, centering heads and protractors.
  • Needs to know diameters, circumferences and mean diameters to layout shell lengths to match up with head circumferences.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Genesis Product Engineer

Plant: Genesis Packaging Technologies Division (Exton, PA)

General Job Description

R-V Industries, Inc is a design and build manufacturer of custom industrial process equipment. We engineer to order, as well as build to print, a wide variety of specialty equipment. Most of our equipment is built in house by our own in house fabricators, machinists, mechanical and electrical assemblers. Our Genesis Division provides a line of Parenteral Vial Capping machinery and Laboratory Inspection Equipment used primarily in the Pharmaceutical Industry. This product line is a highly configurable standard product. Our objective is to differentiate our product by providing market leading energy efficiency, process flexibility, and non-proprietary components backed by excellent service and support.

The Product Engineer is responsible for the review of job specifications, verifying the capper configuration quoted fulfills all specs, codes, and standards referenced. There are design standards to follow and manage for this specialized equipment along with continuous improvement initiatives to champion.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Champion our use of the SolidWorks software for your own personal development with the goal of maximizing our project execution efficiency and sales support potential.
  • Own the calculation set for the product.
  • The Product Engineer is responsible to verify accuracy of all capper engineering releases from both design and mfg engineering. This includes drawings, BOM and assuring an accurate flow of information for material sourcing.
    • Responsible for the PO review, specification review, and all pertinent technical documentation required to build, assemble, and test the equipment. This includes Customer URS, Functional Specification, P&ID, drawings, component specifications, bill of materials and procedures.
    • Flow down relevant information to Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality
  • The Product Engineer will be responsible for executing product enhancement and development projects. This includes leading team evaluations of engineering change requests, defining scope of engineering changes, and verifying results of executed changes.
    • This position is responsible for directing product development projects, continuous improvement from a quality and cost perspective.
      • Generate required testing protocols to validate the use of new components or processes.
    • This position will have responsibilities for the ECR system
      • Write and Research ECR’s for review by the “ECR review board”.
        • Verify form/fit/function is or is not affected.
        • Identify all active drawings affected by a given ECR (reference matrix).
        • Red line the affected drawings or evaluate for obsolescence.
        • Establish the ECR dispositions.
        • The “Product Engineer” sign-off on the ECR indicates all departments have executed their work and closes out the ECR.
      • Verify electronic filling of all relevant ECR information.
  • Be able to apply fundamental engineering principles in the design, selection and application of Genesis’s products and services.
  • Be able and willing to travel globally when necessary
  • Assist Sales, Project Managers, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing and Installation with all technical issues related to the product.
  • Communicate with our customer’s technical personnel.
