General Job Description

The Buyer position exists to procure raw material or commodity items and services.  This individual is responsible for determining what to procure based on a work order bill of material (BOM).  They must understand all nuances associated with each specific BOM in order to communicate intelligently to our suppliers. The Buyer is measured by their ability to source required materials in a cost efficient and timely manner.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders for products and services based on the production required dates.
  • Interface with Production, Project Management, Sales, Quality and Engineering to supply component parts per delivery schedule requirements, maintain proper inventory levels to ensure on time delivery, coordinate return of damaged items, expedite parts, and maintain appropriate files and records
  • Participate in negotiating formal agreements with suppliers as necessary
  • Collaborate with accounting to resolve memos to buyers, credit hold issues, invoice errors, packing slip mistakes and purchase order reconciliation to ensure on hand quantities are accurately depicted in ERP system
  • Drive innovation and focus on continuous improvement within the Supply Chain
  • Advise operations management on logistical considerations as they influence cycle time, transportation, and product costs
  • Satisfy production requirements for materials based on the needs purchased report
  • Replenish max/min items as assigned by the purchasing manager
  • Maintain and control min/max quantity level for applicable items
  • Expedite purchase orders
  • Negotiate competitive prices
  • Communicate with applicable suppliers and develop/maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Supplier consolidation
  • Confirm the validity of open purchase orders
  • Coordinate product returns to vendors as required

CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Night (4pm – 2am)

General Job Description

Machinists prepare and operate a variety of machines (CNC Lathe, Vertical Machining Center, CNC Horizontal Boring Mill, and Manual Horizontal Boring Mill) to produce precision parts and instruments from various metal types (Stainless, Carbon, Alum; Cast, Exotics) and configurations (Forging, Bar Stock Weldments, Casting, Plate).

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Select, set up, remove, and debur all tooling parts
  • Responsible for machining and initial inspection of parts being made
  • Have a thorough understanding of the speeds and feeds of the machine and how it relates to the material being cut
  • Operate overhead cranes to load and unload machine
  • Responsible for predefined preventative maintenance tasks
  • Operate a Monarch Pathfinder CNC Lathe with Fanuc 16T controls
  • Program, set, and change offsets

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3 or more years experience as a machinist
  • Work well with others

Maintenance Technician

Plant: Morgantown, PA

General Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure production equipment is safe, clean, and functional
  • Install, troubleshoot, diagnose problems, then repair, adjust, and perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
  • Use a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment to perform job functions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and machine service
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Detect and report faulty operations, defective material, and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3 or more years experience in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment

Mechanical Designer (Entry level)

General Job Description

R-V Industries is a design and build manufacturer of custom industrial process equipment.  We engineer to order, as well as build to print, a wide variety of specialty equipment.  Most of our equipment is built by our own fabricators, machinists, mechanical and electrical assemblers.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the overall design of the mechanical equipment to support job specifications, applicable codes, and design requirements
  • Participate in the PO and specification review and assist in the development of all pertinent technical documentation required to build, assemble, and test the equipment. This includes drawings, component specifications, bills of material, and procedures
  • Assist other departments with all issues related to the contract
  • Communicate with our customer’s technical personnel about all matters related to design along with any other pertinent technical requirements
  • Review project specifications, digesting those specifications for manufacturing use
  • Create Bills of Material with all pertinent technical requirements defined for purchasing
  • Own all technical aspects and documentation related to a project
  • Execute projects with budget and schedule considerations

Skills/Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of experience with equipment design, including creation of detailed manufacturing drawings
  • AWS and Geometric Tolerancing understanding
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic technical writing skills
  • Confident with selecting and integrating commercial components (bearings, gearing, linear motion, etc)
  • Basic understanding of sizing components and collecting standard calculation packages
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the desire to be a leader

Polisher

Plant: Honey Brook Facility

Shift: 1st and 2nd Shift

General Job Description

Polishers use handheld power tools to correct defects, smooth, and prepare metal surfaces.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate polishing equipment
  • Maintain buffing materials and equipment—including buffers, finishing wheels, and finishing machines
  • Assemble products to determine buffing areas and ensure pieces fit together after finishing
  • Maintain a safe working environment by conducting inspections on equipment; following instructions on work order; and examining completed product
  • Conduct minor repairs when necessary

Skills / Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of equipment needed for job—including wheels used for buffing and polishing
  • Basic mathematical knowledge
  • Able to keep work area clean and well organized
  • Experience with a wide variety of stainless steel alloys
  • Able to interpret blue prints or work order instructions
  • Suitable manual dexterity for manipulating equipment on a variety of parts

Welder / Fitter

Plant: Honey Brook Facility

Shift: Night Shift (4pm – 2am)

General Job Description

A Welder/Fitter is required to cut and burn in relation to the fabrication process, fabricate, weld, and straighten all types of materials used in the company’s fabrication and welding operation with little or no supervisory assistance in the shop.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of welding principals and methods including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Skill in operation of welding methods above
  • Ability to read tape measure to 1/64”
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Experience with grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts
  • Welding with multiple processes in multiple positions as required
  • Experience performing x-ray quality welds
  • Familiar with weld map documentation
  • Understand proper use of weld gauge
  • Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents
  • Setup and adjustment of welding machines and plasma torches
  • Proficiency with manual and semi-automatic execution of weld processes
  • Experience welding ASME Code pressure vessels
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS weld symbols
  • Layout and fitting as directed by drawing or process sheet
  • Create fixtures to hold part while being welded
  • Perform basic NDE procedures (LPT and VT)
  • Understand tolerances and the importance of maintaining them

  • 5+ years welding/fitting experience
  • Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
