CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Night Shift (4pm – 2am)

General Job Description

Machinists prepare and operate a variety of machines (CNC Lathe, Vertical Machining Center, CNC Horizontal Boring Mill, and Manual Horizontal Boring Mill) to produce precision parts and instruments from various metal types (stainless, carbon, alum; cast, exotics) and configurations (forging, bar stock weldments, casting, plate).

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Select, set up, remove, and debur all tooling parts
  • Responsible for machining and initial inspection of parts being made
  • Have a thorough understanding of the speeds and feeds of the machine and how it relates to the material being cut
  • Operate overhead cranes to load and unload machine
  • Responsible for predefined preventative maintenance tasks
  • Operate a Monarch Pathfinder CNC Lathe with Fanuc 16T controls
  • Program, set, and change offsets

Skills/Qualifications

  • 5 or more years experience as a machinist

Fabrication Polisher

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day Shift

General Job Description

Fabrication Polisher use handheld power tools to correct defects, smooth, and prepare metal surfaces.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate polishing equipment
  • Maintain buffing materials and equipment – including buffers, finishing wheels, and finishing machines
  • Assemble products to determine buffing areas and ensure pieces fit together after finishing
  • Maintain a safe working environment by conducting inspections on equipment; following instructions ok work order; and examining completed product
  • Conduct minor repairs when necessary

Skills/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of equipment needed for job—including wheels used for buffing and polishing
  • Basic mathematical knowledge

Welder/Fitter

Plant: Honey Brook and Morgantown, PA

General Job Description

A Welder/Fitter is required to cut according to the fabrication process, fabricate, weld, and straighten all types of materials used in the company’s fabrication and welding operations with little or no supervisory assistance in the shop.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of welding principals and methods including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Skill in operation of welding methods above
  • Ability to read tape measure to 1/64”
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Experience with grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts
  • Welding with multiple processes in multiple positions as required
  • Experience performing x-ray quality welds
  • Familiar with weld map documentation
  • Understand proper use of weld gauge
  • Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents
  • Setup and adjustment of welding machines and plasma torches
  • Proficiency with manual and semi-automatic execution of weld processes
  • Experience welding ASME Code pressure vessels

Mechanical Assembler

General Job Description

A mechanical Assembler assembles and disassembles mechanical parts, pieces, and products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints or sketches, and perform layout work.
  • Uses necessary tools and equipment to perform construction, assemble, disassemble, repair, rebuild or recondition work as assigned.
  • Clean, degrease, sandblast, prime, paint, condition, straighten, flatten and hand fit parts as needed.
  • Use and maintain precision measuring tools.
  • Perform all material handling duties required, use cranes or material handling equipment as needed.
  • Adjust, lubricate, and perform minor maintenance on equipment used and maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment and working areas.
  • Operate power saws, rill grinders, portable hydraulic jacks, vertical and horizontal presses, sandblast and painting equipment, as relating to work assigned.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • 2+ years mechanical assembly experience

Pre Fabrication Craftsman

A Pre Fabrication Craftsman produces parts for welders that comply with engineering release drawings or work orders produced by project planning.

Duities/Responsibilities

  • Follows cut list provided by project planning
  • Produce and layout parts from drawings
  • Uses and operates machinery such as the shear, punches, plate rolls, drill press, hand plasma cutter, bevel machine
  • Meet hours required to get the job done

Skills/Qualifications

Production Planner

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day Shift

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret drawings to generate and maintain work order cut sheets and routings to outline the steps required to manufacture and inspect a custom fabrication
  • Interact with Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, and Quality Engineers to ensure an efficient, quality process sheet is created for the Manufacturing team to follow. This includes estimating the time required to perform each function, so it can be accurately scheduled
  • Maintain any Solidworks and AutoCAD sketches required to enable parts to be burned to shape by our CNC plate processing equipment
  • Will need to interact with lead fitters and welders on the shop floor to better understand their needs
  • For larger projects run pre-job process review meetings with Project Managers, Lead Fitters, Lead Welders, and in some cases estimators to understand their thoughts prior to processing
  • BOM releases to Purchasing Department

Requirements Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to determine individual piece shapes and dimensions
  • Experienced using shop math methods to calculate part sizes, the layout of each piece, and nest pieces to best yield for plate and structural steel
  • Ability to make Solidworks and AutoCAD sketches for plate layout and burning programming
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel with average typing ability
  • Self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and able to list and prioritize tasks

Shop Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in fabrication
  • Knowledge of different types of materials
  • Familiar with a variety of fabrication processes and equipment used to execute them
  • Estimating task durations and time frames for individual components in a project

Press Brake Operator

General Job Description 
A Press Brake Operator utilizes engineering and project planning documents to form material into parts using a press brake machine.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to read engineering release drawings
  • Set up press brake machine
  • Know the capabilities and how to operate the machine
  • Adjust depth controls and machine offset
  • Keep equipment clean and perform operator maintenance on press brake
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of press brake tooling and is able to select the proper tooling for the application
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the principles of tonnage, can accurately calculate its effect on the capacity of the machine and the tooling uses capacity chart or tonnage calculator for die selection

General Job Description 

R-V Industries, Inc. manufactures a line of steam autoclaves used primarily in the life science field. Our Beta Star assemblers work to build autoclaves used in lab decontamination.

Responsibilities

  • Execute of autoclave assembling
  • Practice safety awareness and hazard analysis
  • Work efficiently and effectively with a team
  • Assist with manufacturing autoclaves addressing simple lab decontamination to cGMP BSL 3 applications

Skills/Qualifications

  • Able to read drawings, PNID and wiring diagrams, and basic installation protocols
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understand autoclave functions, PLC control systems, pneumatic controls, and steam piping installation
  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude

Robotic Welding Operator

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Night Shift

General Job Description

This position will be responsible for running the robotic welding cell during production activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Robotic Welding Programmer to develop sequencing of parts
  • Load and unload parts into welding fixtures ensuring parts are aligned correctly and part quality is acceptable.
  • Responsible to integrate the required part changes and cycle times into their daily responsibilities
  • May be required to clean parts and perform final finishing operation on part prior to the component moving to the next work cell
  • Ensure all portions of fixtures, robot, and welding power source are functioning properly and perform periodical preventative maintenance.
  • Able to perform basic program call-ups.

Skills/Qualifications

  •  Willing to train the right candidate for the above responsibilities.

Lead Welder

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day Shift

Responsibilities

  • Assist welders with basic weld machine troubleshooting and audit the following: amp & volt settings, grounding, consumable selection and replacement, basic preventative maintenance, wire feedings, and gas flow
  • Audit all weld procedures
  • Assist with safe part set-up, welding application, and expectations
  • Program weld machines
  • Teach and mentor welders on existing weld processes and procedures
  • Interview and test new candidates
  • Be a resource for work center team leaders and the Engineering department
  • Facilitate the qualification of new PQR and WPQ
  • Play and active role in enforcing controlled procedures: selecting weld filler materials, procurement and weld control, weld wire inventory and control
  • Assist with procuring equipment

Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate safe work practices, an understanding and use of proper PPE, and a productive competence with specific blueprint readings and weld symbols

  • A working knowledge of LOTO for welding equipment
  • Understand and practice NQA-1 procedure 9051
