Code Welder/Fitters

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day and Night Shift

General Job Description

A Welder/Fitter is required to cut and burn in relation to the fabrication process, fabricate, weld, and straighten all types of materials used in the company’s fabrication and welding operation with little or no supervisory assistance in the shop.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated safety awareness and training in a construction/manufacturing environment
  • Read a tape measure to 1/64”
  • Follow oral and written directions
  • Daily use grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts
  • May occasionally perform x-ray quality welds
  • Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents
  • Setup and adjust welding machines and plasma torches
  • Read and interpret blueprints and AWS weld symbols
  • Lay and fit as directed by drawing or process sheet
  • Create fixtures to hold part while being welded
  • Perform basic NDE procedures (LPT and VT)
  • Understand tolerances and the importance of maintaining them

Educational/Physical Requirements

  • Knowledge of welding principals and methods including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • 5+ years welding/fitting experience welding ASME Code pressure vessels
  • Welding with multiple processes in multiple positions as required
  • Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
  • Every day repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement, involving gripping and wrist torquing
  • Every day standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping
  • Everyday lifting 25-50 lbs
  • Exposure to moving machinery, dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements
  • Must have ability to hear emergency communications and alarms

Shipper/Receiver

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day Shift

General Job Description

A Shipper/Receiver is required to perform all material handling operations assisted with shipping and receiving. The operations involve the loading and unloading of trucks, movement of materials, and documentation associated with shipping and receiving.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Document, wrap, and label packages
  • Coordinate carrier pick-ups
  • Prepare and maintain packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, and material condition reports
  • Maintain files of receiving documents
  • Unload/receive parts, finished goods, and returned goods
  • Pack/unpack shipping containers in a safe manner
  • Confirm shipment accuracy to ensure that materials meet purchase order specifications
  • Receive material into company software
  • Record receipts determines project numbers and material storage location identification

Skills/Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience as a shipper/receiver or material handler
  • Computer skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Able to identify materials by dimensions
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to build skids and crates

Educational/Physical Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Forklift certification recommended
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation

Materials Flow Expeditor

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day Shift

General Job Description

The Materials Flow Expeditor general purpose is to increase the efficiency of the manufacturing workforce by decreasing time spent locating and kitting jobs.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maximize efficiency with all projects on the production floor.
  • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, to determine materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Assist in movement/staging/kitting of materials for work in process.

Educational/Physical Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in a steel manufacturing company.
  • Must be organized and able to monitor a number of orders from multiple vendors. The position requires someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Basic understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP).
  • A capable and proven problem solver.
  • Able to think ahead to the next step in the manufacturing process and anticipate future needs for each project.
  • Able to read work order instructions and carry out directions.

Pre Fabrication Burner Operator

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Day Shift

General Job Description

A Burner Operator utilizes engineering documents to produce parts on plasma oxy fuel CNC cutting machine.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Aptitude to operate a CNC burning machine experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of burning principles and methods.
  • Some knowledge of parent metals and alloys.
  • Shop math.
  • Well versed in techniques for measuring.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining tolerances and squareness when required.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Ability to direct a burner helper assistant.
  • Exercises discretion regarding specific procedures and work methods to complete a given assignment.
  • Familiar with tooling and equipment associated with standard burning practices; torches, overhead cranes, forklifts, plate clamps, fixturing, squares, measuring, etc.

Educational/Physical Requirements

  • Burning experience acquired from training in area vocational-technical centers, trade schools or on-the-job training.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
  • Everyday repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement, involving gripping and wrist torquing
  • Everyday stair climbing, bending, crouching, stooping, standing, walking, and occasional overhead reaching
  • Everyday forklift and bridge crane operation
  • Everyday lifting 25 to 50 lbs
  • Everyday keyboarding/typing
  • Everyday exposure to moving machinery, dust, dirt, grease or other disagreeable elements
  • Must have accurate depth perception
  • Must have ability to hear emergency communications and alarms
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
