Our engineering and sales teams have been on the forefront of industrial ingenuity as stationary coal nozzle materials have adapted over the years to meet industry needs. In 1986, R-V answered the demand for increased wear life by pioneering the ceramic lined stationary coal nozzle design. While this design became the industry standard, R-V continued to develop new products to provide unique service to our clients. In the early 2000s, R-V rolled out a combination ceramic and high alumina rammable refractory lined stationary coal nozzle to provide an option less susceptible to thermal related failures than a full ceramic lined design. All of these options set the stage for the newest design: the chromium carbide weld overlay lined nozzle.
Our newest and most popular design, the chromium carbide weld overlay lined nozzle offers a solution to difficult repairs. When wear occurs on this model, it can be easily repaired by plant personnel simply by laying chromium carbide weld overlay on top of the worn area. The design maintains the existing nozzle ID and does not require any modifications to the burner front for installation.
R-V provides a higher standard of wear options to protect against coal flow erosion. To further optimize quality, we offer complete coal nozzle assemblies with coal nozzle tips, seal plate, support bracket design and assembly, pivot pins, adjusting links, and link pins. Additionally, we offer a “no seal plate” design and a design that centers the coal nozzle tip from the rear of the windbox.
