General Job Description

The Buyer position exists to procure raw material or commodity items and services.  This individual is responsible for determining what to procure based on a work order bill of material (BOM).  They must understand all nuances associated with each specific BOM in order to communicate intelligently to our suppliers. The Buyer is measured by their ability to source required materials in a cost efficient and timely manner.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders for products and services based on the production required dates.
  • Interface with Production, Project Management, Sales, Quality and Engineering to supply component parts per delivery schedule requirements, maintain proper inventory levels to ensure on time delivery, coordinate return of damaged items, expedite parts, and maintain appropriate files and records
  • Participate in negotiating formal agreements with suppliers as necessary
  • Collaborate with accounting to resolve memos to buyers, credit hold issues, invoice errors, packing slip mistakes and purchase order reconciliation to ensure on hand quantities are accurately depicted in ERP system
  • Drive innovation and focus on continuous improvement within the Supply Chain
  • Advise operations management on logistical considerations as they influence cycle time, transportation, and product costs
  • Satisfy production requirements for materials based on the needs purchased report
  • Replenish max/min items as assigned by the purchasing manager
  • Maintain and control min/max quantity level for applicable items
  • Expedite purchase orders
  • Negotiate competitive prices
  • Communicate with applicable suppliers and develop/maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Supplier consolidation
  • Confirm the validity of open purchase orders
  • Coordinate product returns to vendors as required

Machinist – CNC Horizontal Boring Mill

Plant: Honey Brook, PA

Shift: Night (4pm – 2am)

General Job Description

Machinists prepare and operate a variety of machines (CNC Lathe, Vertical Machining Center, CNC Horizontal Boring Mill, and Manual Horizontal Boring Mill) to produce precision parts and instruments from various metal types (Stainless, Carbon, Alum; Cast, Exotics) and configurations (Forging, Bar Stock Weldments, Casting, Plate).

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Select, set up, remove, and debur all tooling parts
  • Responsible for machining and initial inspection of parts being made
  • Have a thorough understanding of the speeds and feeds of the machine and how it relates to the material being cut
  • Operate overhead cranes to load and unload machine
  • Responsible for predefined preventative maintenance tasks
  • Operate a Monarch Pathfinder CNC Lathe with Fanuc 16T controls
  • Program, set, and change offsets

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3 or more years experience as a machinist

Pre-Fabrication Craftsman

Plant: Morgantown Facility

Shift: 2nd Shift

Job Description

A Pre-Fabrication Craftsman produces parts for welders that comply with engineering release drawings or work orders produced by project planning.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Follows cut list provided by project planning.
  • Produce and layout parts from drawings.
  • Uses and operates machinery such as the shear, punches, plate rolls, drill press, hand plasma cutter, bevel machine.
  • Meet hours required to get the job done.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Team player/ problem solver.
  • Flexible, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Able to work with co-workers effectively as well as manage fast pace environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively either by written word, word of mouth, or E-mail.

  • Must possess the ability to layout and create parts from drawings accurately.
  • Skill in the use of trigonometry, shop math and construction formulae.

Robotic Welding Programmer

Plant: Honey Brook Facility

Shift: 1st Shift (Day) and 2nd Shift (Night)

General Job Description

This position will be responsible for developing robotic welding programs and tooling for welded parts in all market areas that R-V Industries serves.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Develop robotic programs for new parts and optimize robotic programs for all existing parts
  • Utilize offline programming software to program the robot and to limit down time of the robotics cell when required
  • Assist in the design and development of robotic weld fixtures
  • Maintain documentation of robotic programming and improvements
  • Troubleshoot equipment and maximize machine efficiency
  • Provide operator training within the robotic weld cells
  • Be the owner of the implementation of new programs and tooling

Skills / Qualifications

  • Willing to train the right candidate for the above responsibilities

Weld Engineer

Plant: Honey Brook Facility

Shift: Day

Job Description

The Welding Engineer participates in the selection of weld procedures to support job specifications, applicable codes, and design requirements. This position also acts as the technical liaison for all things related to welding between Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Quality and Sales. It is intended to be a manufacturing based position with approximately 80% to 90% of the time spent on the manufacturing floor.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Establish the selection of weld procedures for projects with collaboration from shop personnel
  • Oversee the execution of all floor activities related to executing new PQRs in accordance with ASME Section IX, D1.1, and D1.6.
  • Perform, oversee, and document Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ), this includes coordinating the destructive or non-destructive tests of the welder qualifications with QA.
  • Keep the welder qualifications in WelderQual current.
  • Maintain the Welder Continuity Log and Stamp Summary monthly for all facilities.
  • Develop and oversee weld and base metal repair procedures.
  • Communicate to our customer’s technical personnel
  • Lead R-V’s Welder Training Program and ensure all topics stay relevant and constantly look to improve training methods and topics.
  • Lead regular toolbox meetings on topics related to welding
  • Justify new welding processes and associated equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, welding power sources, beveling equipment, automation, new technologies.
  • Lead the floor in enhancing our performance related to first pass welding quality

Skills / Qualifications

  • Strong desire to be hands on primarily working on the floor
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to work with a wide variety of associates
  • Knowledge of ASME NQA-1, ASME Section VIII/IX, AWS D1.1 and D1.6
  • Time management skills

Welder / Fitter

Plant: Honey Brook Facility

Shift: Night Shift (4pm – 2am)

General Job Description

A Welder/Fitter is required to cut and burn in relation to the fabrication process, fabricate, weld, and straighten all types of materials used in the company’s fabrication and welding operation with little or no supervisory assistance in the shop.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of welding principals and methods including FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Skill in operation of welding methods above
  • Ability to read tape measure to 1/64”
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Experience with grinders, torches, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts
  • Welding with multiple processes in multiple positions as required
  • Experience performing x-ray quality welds
  • Familiar with weld map documentation
  • Understand proper use of weld gauge
  • Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents
  • Setup and adjustment of welding machines and plasma torches
  • Proficiency with manual and semi-automatic execution of weld processes
  • Experience welding ASME Code pressure vessels
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS weld symbols
  • Layout and fitting as directed by drawing or process sheet
  • Create fixtures to hold part while being welded
  • Perform basic NDE procedures (LPT and VT)
  • Understand tolerances and the importance of maintaining them

Mechanical Design Engineer – Product Engineer

Plant: Exton, PA (Genesis)

Shift: Day

General Job Description

This position will be located at our Genesis location which is the division of RVI dedicated to the line of perennial vial capping machinery and laboratory inspection equipment primarily for the pharmaceutical industry. A product engineer is responsible for reviewing job specifications, configurations, and design standards for this specialized equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage the calculation set for this product
  • Verify capper engineering releases, including drawings, BOM, functional specifications, P&ID, etc.
  • Work with a team to evaluate, define, and verify engineering change requests
  • Direct project development projects and continuous improvement
  • Manage ECR system, including research, verification, evaluation, and establishment
  • Able to apply fundamental engineering principles to the design, selection, and application of Genesis products and services
  • Assist multiple departments with all technical issues related to the product
  • Communicate with our customer’s technical personnel
  • Manage the project’s budgets and schedules
  • Create and check layout and detailed drawings

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • Able to lead a team with a servant leadership mentality
  • Passion for mechanical design and manufacturing methods
  • Highly detail oriented for the purpose of creating/upholding design standards
  • Understand P&ID diagrams, AWS, and pneumatic controls and component specification
