R-V Industries Earns OSHA SHARP Status for 14th Straight Year, Keeping it in Elite Health and Safety Company

HONEY BROOK, PENNSYLVANIA – R-V Industries, Inc., a leading industrial equipment manufacturer, is among 52 Pennsylvania-based firms that have been recognized by OSHA for approval of its Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). It’s the 14th consecutive year that R-V has earned SHARP status, an elite category that demonstrates best-of-the-best safety practices and full utilization of OSHA’s offered resources.

“Safety is at the core of everything that we do at R-V Industries,” says Robert Miller, R-V’s Environmental Health and Safety Manager. “It isn’t just important to our workers, but to our customers too. At R-V, we believe that safety and quality go hand-in-hand – and we wouldn’t want to have one without the other. Out of 13,000 companies in the state of Pennsylvania, we’re again honored to be among only a handful that qualify for this significant safety achievement – it’s a true testament to the safety culture we’ve built.”

Though voluntary, SHARP status from OSHA is indicative of a company’s commitment to safe workplace practices – a status symbol that can serve as a model for safety and health best practices. It also reflects a small business’ usage of OSHA’s On-Site Consultation Program to help create a safe and healthy workplace.

SHARP’s most recent full-service safety and health assessment was conducted on November 12, and SHARP approval will last for an additional three years before reassessment is necessary. Some of the initiatives that R-V has instituted include weekly toolbox talk safety meetings and having an open-door policy where safety issues can be quickly and efficiently addressed and corrected. “At R-V, we empower employees to take safety into their own hands,” Miller continues. “If there’s a concern observed, we have a stop-work policy until it can be addressed. Safety isn’t just the job of one person at R-V, but the responsibility of everyone. It’s important that all of our employees leave for home at the end of the day in the same condition that they arrived in.”
